Your jewelry should be kept in a clean and dry place. Store your jewelry flat or hang separately. Apply perfumes and cosmetics before putting on your jewelry. Do not swim or shower in your jewelry. Chlorine can tarnish the metals. Never store pearls inside a plastic bag because plastic can interact with the pearls and cause them to deteriorate.
